The Devil Is Loose LP (1976)

    CBS

Indian-born singer-songwriter, producer and actress Asha Puthli has had quite a career spanning from the 1970s until today.  Her early 70s vocals are sweet, sultry, cute and jazzy... even sounding like Aretha in spots.  Her third album 1976's The Devil is Loose did not see a US release.  So little is written (in English) about it. Upon first listen it is an average funky disco outing until you hit the cut "Space Talk" which melts butter with a killer funky bass line complimented by Rhodes and mind blowing synth lines.  Puthli's subtle high pitched vocals make it all the better.  Cosmic disco at its finest.
