    Moshi LP (1972)

    Saravah

In 1972, French saxophonist / composer Barney Wilen set out for his most ambitious project yet, fusing African rhythms and field recordings with experimental jazz, funk, and pop best evident on the title cut.  The result was the sought after double LP Moshi released on the French label Saravah. It's an album that has graced many want lists from serious jazz freaks over the years.  For those not wanting to shell out hundreds of dollars on an original pressing, there is an 80s reissue and a recent deluxe treatment on SouffleContinu Records.
