    Gettin' Off LP (1972)

    Eastbound Records

Bill Mason is best known by obsessive crate diggers as the supporting organist on Rusty Bryant's landmark Fire Eater LP in the early 70s.  This is his only solo record released on the short-lived, sought after Detroit label, Eastbound Records.  It's your typical Prestige-like soul jazz outing , but with two smoking funky instrumentals "Gettin' Off" and "Stone".  To the listener's delight, these tracka feature the services of legendary skin pounder Idris Muhammad. Also check for Gary Chandler's Outlook LP from Eastbound as well for similar effects.
