    Goin' Off LP (1988)

    Cold Chillin' ‎

During the 00s, golden era rapper and avid crate digger Biz Markie became the unofficial Soul Strut mascot.  His comedic antics within the crate digging community became that of urban legend.  The most famous was his claim that he owned a rare promotional 12" of Bob James' classic jazz funk tune "Mardi Gras" that was mixed without the bells in the intro. Even Bob James himself disputed that such a thing existed.  Still Biz insisted it was in his possession.  Questlove of the Roots even publicly challenged Biz to show the goods. This is just the tip of the iceberg with Biz stories.  For more entertainment, read this thread.
