Eddie Fisher & The Next One Hundred Years LP (1970)

    Cadet Records

Ranked #155 in the Soul Strut 200

Longtime St. Louis sideman Eddie Fisher's debut on the Chess affiliate Cadet is considered a tripped-out funky jazz guitar masterpiece.  Think Grant Green meets Eddie Hazel. This LP has it all.  Gorgeous soul jazz, wahed-out fuzz rock, dirty, head nodding funk rhythms, and ingenious arrangements, making it a recommended staple in crate digging circles.  Top cuts include "Jeremiah Pucket", "Either Or", and "East St. Louis Blues".  Fisher would later release other albums like the disco funker Hot Lunch and the straight ahead soul jazz of Third Cup, but if anything is abundantly clear, Eddie Fisher & The Next One Hundred Years is his "look no further" album.
