René & Angela - Wall to Wall

  • René & Angela

    Wall to Wall LP (1981)

    Capitol Records

This type of early 80s soul is as big as a microbrew out in Seattle with the digger/producer cats. Met up with Conman Big Chan when I was out there on vacation recently who escorted me to local spots pumping Jake One's soon to be released mix tape ode to all that drips Jheri Curl juice. I went on to confess that R&A's Wall to Wall was on HEAVY rotation at my crib. It reminds me of growing up in Connecticut and listening to KISS FM NYC on my crappy Yorx boom box. For those that need a stamp of approval, DJ Spinna added the track "Secret Rendezvous" to his Strange Games and Things mix CD. Truly now, this one is lost classic of beautiful soulful funk with that ever so lovable 80s synth twist. Plus, you get a fresh pic of Ronald and Angelique flexing strap-on Moog Liberations on the back cover.
