whats the explanation for Bautista's reincarnation???

phils are a mess, but we were treated to a charmin opening schedule. we gotta get our shit together soon our Amaro is gonna start turning wheels

they're attributing the whole thing to the fact that the jays are the first team to let him actually get a big league game together. he bounced around between the orioles, to the royals, the devil rays, and the pirates, and never played over 100 games a season..... in most cases under 30.

the move to toronto apparently helped immensely. a rebuilding team [with patient fans] not afraid to take a few on the chin in order to let a player who shows great potential realize it. he actually started out as a defensive specialist at third base as a backup for scott rolen [who we waived], which would explain the gun for an arm he's now scaring runners with in RF.

also, toronto has one of the better hitting coaches in the league [fact. 'brian butterfield'....look it up] and is now managed by the red sox old hitting coach. they overhauled his batting stance three years ago not to make him a power hitter, but to utilize his bat-speed to hit for contact and pick spots. shortening his swing to do this actually worked the OPPOSITE of that, but turned him into a power-heavy, almost strictly-pull hitter you see now.

Farrell was the pitching coach for the Sox. A really good one.

mah bad yo!

all i know is that he has implemented a strict "leg out every ground ball", "bunt on, bunt to advance", "take two if you can" and "always look to steal" offensive strategy that i cant get enough of.

I had no doubt he'd be a good manager for Toronto and was sorry to see him go. He's got a good background beyond coaching - he ran the Cleveland farm system before he came to the Sox.

still fairly mannish as far as I can tell

gigantes drop another totally winnable game to the rockies; slipped outta first by half a game.

sabean needs to get out there and spend some of that sellout-crowd-cheddar on a bat; enough is enough; had it up to here with 3-run games.

i devoted my day off work today to getting my awesome custom character in MBL2k11 out of the minors and finally into the bigs.

THE GAME AFTER GETTING CALLED UP TO PLAY FOR MY JAYS I GET TRADED TO THE RED SOX!!!

artificial intelligence has no concept of inter-divisional rivalry.

The defending AL Champs beat some scrubs from Boston.

Yeah, I remember the days when I thought a league championship was a big deal, too.

Hold on to that thought, you're going to need it.

Held on to that thought, but apparently I didn't need it all that much.

The Red Sox are ripping through the American League since that slow start.

And...

Hey, Yankee fans! How does 8-1 sound? Looks like your AARP dudes will be hoping for the wild card this year.

And I'm rooting hard for the classy Tim Wakefield to ring up his 200th win this year. He deserves it and with just 4 wins to go it should happen.

Bad Reds series. Sure we split them, and we actually hit pretty well. But the loss of Sanchez (arguably our best hitter...and we really, really need hits) plus what was prolly Timmy's career worst start....I'm not feeling real positive right now....but we still the Best in the West (somehow)...

You should be happy, bro! Your chances of winning a ring just jumped about one million percent wink

b/w

Outscored 35-6 in a three game series? Yikes.

it was shameful. i didn't make it past the 4th inning watching any of those games. i had tickets for the sunday beating and ended up handing them off, thank god.

i haven't seen such a heavy-handed beating in years.

yikes is fucking right.

The craziest part about the whole thing is that the Sox are on a bone-crushing nine-game winning streak and the city isn't even paying attention. It's all Bruins right now. But I'm rooting for your Jays to take second place in the division and the wild card. If there's one thing we can all agree on, it's that the Yankees suck.

Rest in Peace to Hideki Irabu, one of the pioneers of Japanese MLB players....Makes me real sad..........Saw the dude in person pitching with the minor league team in Long Beach a couple years ago. A couple in the crowd commented on how he was a solid pitcher, and I was thinking in my head "Well he WAS a pro at one point!". He was a rather chunky dude like that other lefty Yankee pitcher...forget his name....dudes in Japan are gonna be grieving about this one....

but i mainly checked back into the thread cause the Phillies are beasting right now.
we could sweep the Giants in a four game in the bay tomorrow when Oswalt returns.
lineup got a steroidal jolt with yon Hunter Pence.

i hate to think people look at us like the Miami Heat, Yankees or other "bought" squad...cuase i have a lot of un watching this team. but thats probly cause theyre crushing skulls up

definitely not that. when doc left toronto he took a full page out in every local newspaper thanking the city of toronto for their hospitality. dude is the epitome of a class act, unlike anyone wearing a miami heat jersey.
