whats the explanation for Bautista's reincarnation???
phils are a mess, but we were treated to a charmin opening schedule. we gotta get our shit together soon our Amaro is gonna start turning wheels
they're attributing the whole thing to the fact that the jays are the first team to let him actually get a big league game together. he bounced around between the orioles, to the royals, the devil rays, and the pirates, and never played over 100 games a season..... in most cases under 30.
the move to toronto apparently helped immensely. a rebuilding team [with patient fans] not afraid to take a few on the chin in order to let a player who shows great potential realize it. he actually started out as a defensive specialist at third base as a backup for scott rolen [who we waived], which would explain the gun for an arm he's now scaring runners with in RF.
also, toronto has one of the better hitting coaches in the league [fact. 'brian butterfield'....look it up] and is now managed by the red sox old hitting coach. they overhauled his batting stance three years ago not to make him a power hitter, but to utilize his bat-speed to hit for contact and pick spots. shortening his swing to do this actually worked the OPPOSITE of that, but turned him into a power-heavy, almost strictly-pull hitter you see now.
