Monty Strikes Again was recorded live in the Black Forest, Germany in 1974. The album contains six songs, two of which were originals. Alexander and his band open up with the Jazz standard Green Dolphin Street. Most of the album is a light and mellow Jazz set led by Alexander’s piano playing. There is a big drum solo during a cover of the Ragtime classic The Entertainer. The one, standout track is a cover of Herbie Hancock’s Chameleon that’s stripped down, but still has that signature swing to it.
