I'm not certain about the reliability of those I've received the opinions i've gotten thus far - however they've all said they're incredible. I personally ride for Skull Candy earbuds - love the ones I have.

Re: beats by dr. dre (HEADPHONES-R)
Are you gonna use them for listening, or making music?
I've never tried the ear bud version.
As for the OGs, they sound great, but they are definitely a little hyped. Not entirely comfortable, and I'd feel like a fool wearing them out. The noise cancellation sucks. They are active and require batteries, and burn through batteries like crazy.
So yeah, I'd say better for listening at home than making music. They do sound good, the bass response is something else. The way they fold is cool. The little touches like removable cables and travel case are nice too.
They sell them at the apple store now, I'd suggest try before you buy.
I returned the ones I had, so I guess my 2 cents is
