Do people still collect library records?

Bsides Said:

I mean like, not necessarily the choicest pieces. Some of the good ones, but also lots that are just like "harmonica tunes" or something.

I basically have most of the kpm 1000 series and a whole mess of bruton records that I am very keen to get rid of. Very close to just dumping them all at amoeba, but if anyone has a better idea, holler at me.

These are out of here soon whatever the case so holler quickly!

Some people are library completists and will buy em, but if they are a bad listen, most likely nobody wants em.

i can give you some guidance on the goods ones and which ones not to keep. preferably selling to me the good ones

i remember you mentioning you scored this lot for free from NBC studios...makes me bug out thinking about that.

here are some you should sell at top price:

big beat
big beat 2
afro rock
beat incidental
brasilian suite (need this!)
boogaloo in brazil (need this!)
distinctive theme / race to acheivement
drama vol 1
flute for moderns
the hunter
piano viberations
progressive pop
soul organ showcase
speed and excitement
trendsetters

although the price on these has died in recent years so i can't guarentee you will get top dollar now on ebay, but you will get $50 on each of those at least (big beats & afro rock can get you 100-300).

Re: Do people still collect library records?

oh and the prices on gemm are looney prices, most kpms outside of big beat 1 & 2 and afro rock probably won't consistently clear 3 digits.

UPDATE:

Okay, so Ive got most of these joints you guys are mentioning. Some of them I actually have doubles of like flute for moderns. Might even have doubles of race to achievement.

I have one offer so far to take the whole collection off my hands which sounds real good to me since that's my main objective. but that may or may not work out.

stay tuned for the list.
