I don't know if people truly know the magnitude of how he changed the record digging game for hip-hop producers and record collectors worldwide. He'll be truly missed.
Just received the word from DJ Soulero. He passed away 2 or 3 days ago. As many are aware, John had been battling some health issues over the years. R.I.P. to a true underground legend.

I heard that Vinyl Dogs brought POZ to the Roosevelt first, & J.C. got hold of a load of dead stock after they blew it up - can any regulars confirm or refute this? Supposedly it was a similar story with various big LPs from back then: first one arrived at the show from Princeton R.E., Scorpio or wherever via Mike & Sean, then John used his connects to get bulk following the initial ripple.

There's an article by mr Carrero himself on the famous Roosevelt recordhows in a backissue of Waxpoetics. He talks about the POZ record as well and how he got hold of a whole stash of sealed copies. Seemed like a really nice guy too. RIP
