I'm going through some old library joints and was wondering if this tune would be of general interest to boogie funk DJs - I have no relative sense of "what's good" in that realm. (There's two samples on here, the second one is more disco-y jazz than anything else).

I don't consider myself to be a boogiefunk-DJ but I would definitely play that first tune.

More of a Smooth Jazz cut set in the early 80's. Nice vibe though. By the way ... Boogie is not a "silly ass term".

seriously, your right... boogie is a STUPID term, like " gorgeous " when used to describe sounds, which you cant see.
who coined boogie ? certainly NOT those who made the music.

Wow ... Why you so angry? Actually, It was used in the music at the time to describe the sound. What would you call it? Post disco soul/funk.

im not angry at all. just sayin.. usually somebody outside of the people making the music, makes up a term and it becomes what it is.
if it was played in a disco-teque it became known as disco...which was just uptempo soul music that one could dance to....... and when the late 70's early 80s came, that music was still being played in discos, roller rinks, park jams, wbls and so on. did it not become referred to as disco music because of technology ? i dunno.
i know what the term is used to describe/define.... ive got many records considered to be this genre.
" guys ... listen up, when the beat goes.. kick, snare straight thru, and theres a big ass clap on the snare... and we use synth bass... its called boogie... dont ever forget it".
do you think when rick james made super freak, or george clinton made atomic dog, knee deep, one nation, flashlight and so on.... they referred to it as "boogie music". hellll no.
CMON SON !
infact if at all, george calls HIS music funk. im sure many here would disagree, but just how can one disagree with the person whos actually making it ?
its like "modern soul" as a term... not one person on this site can tell me exactly what that means... cuz it never makes sense.
is modern soul meant to describe a record from 1974 as i see it listed or called, or is it from 1984 with shit drum machines... sounding NOTHING like the 1974 phrasing of it.
like "rare groove" who the fuuuuck uses this dumb ass term. " hey man, thats not soul... thats " rare groove" make sure you use the proper term or you cant play this kind of music... you dont know what your talking about.
I must question everything.
b/w some wanker from the u.k. prolly coined the phrase boogie.

Anything past Dec, 31st 1979 and with a heavy emphasis on (arp) synthesizers, I will dare to call it something other than disco. More than likely funk, but its still disco in root.

I don't know (or care) who coined the phrase, but it's not like it was some random from-out-of-nowhere description. Like someone else alluded to, there were tons of song titles, band names and lyrics using the term "boogie" in the early 80s. Personally I find it convenient to say boogie instead of "early to mid 80s disco".
