Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
Ranked #77 in the Soul Strut 200
Debut from the legendary soul/funk outfit Earth, Wind & Fire, except this album contains a much different lineup than their multi-platinum reign in the mid to late 70s. This album is more raw and stripped down compared to their later efforts making it a fan favorite with funk aficionados and beat diggers. Highlights include "C'mon Children" (which has a heavy Sly influence), "Moment Of Truth", and the funk ripper "Bad Tune". EWF would release another album (1971's The Need of Love) in the same vein before moving to Columbia and adopting a more slick spiritual soul sound under a different roster.
