    Do You Sell On Discogs?

I'm there too but I'm quiet lazy with listing new items. It's much more comfortable than ebay though. http://www.discogs.com/seller/disco-che

    School me on Victor Jara

While living in Chile for some months I learned a lot about Jara and his importance for the left movement. You'll see his face painted in murals everywhere. He is equally treasured as Violetta Parra and Pablo Neruda. I also was exposed a lot to his music but I think (as with many folk artists)...

I love ending a night of DJing, when there's still a small crowd of dancers left and I like to send everybody home with something warm and beautiful. Here are some of my favorite choices for last song of the night. What are yours? Rufus & Chaka - Close The Door Mary Roos - Morgens um...

    Digging in Tanzania?

A good friend of mine is going on a work related trip to Tanzania with a little spare time for record hunting in Dar es Salaam. Has anyone been there before and can share some experiences, places to go, items to watch out for? Thank you very much.

    Anyone on Mixcloud?

sticky_dojah said: I do prefer soundcloud though...mixcloud is a bit "ugly" in comparison. Have you checked out the new user surface. Looks a lot more polished and contemporary. Some features that are comparable to soundcloud in usability e.g. the player keeps on playing while...

    School Me on Amiga

Although Theo Schumann Combo were most well known for their beat and surf-style recordings they had some serious jazz steez. The EP with Karawane is crazy rare. I also like some of his early 80ies recordings: Honolulu

The first ever 12” using the term Remix

Double Exposure - Ten Percent is said to be the first Disco-"Remix" but on the label it described as "Disco blending by Walter Gibbons". Tom Moulton was doing it even before but it was indicated as "A Tom Moulton Mix" on labels. My wild guess for the first time written on the label is...

    sly stone's 'fresh'

    sly stone's 'fresh'

Not exactly comparable soundwise as it's more modern soul/disco but the "Darwin's Theory" has a similar positive and warm vibe to it. And then again it might be no coincidence that this has been recorded in Sly's studio in Santa Monica.
