Errrry,

You know how sometimes the 45 is missing the break/intro/sample compared to the 12" or album versions?

For example:
"I'm gonna do something freaky to you" - The album version has the long intro/break/sample, the 45 doesn't.
"rise" (Herb Albert) - The 12" has two long breaks (Biggie Hypnotize), the 45 has one short one.

Well I'm wondering about:
The RAH Band "Messages from the stars"
Thinking about buying the 45 but I want to make sure I'm not gonna miss anything by passing on the 12".
Any advice about that one?

You ever get a 45 and realize that it is lacking the break/intro/sample?

Drop knowledge!

Not sure about the rah band but a obvious one that comes to mind is the Detroit Emeralds - Youre getting a little too smart 45.

Ha, I've got that 45.

Didn't realize that I was missing anything.

I guess I shoulda figured that there was a version with grabbable drums, since they've been used so much.

Not on the US pressing, but the UK pressing does.

No break at the beginning, but Aesop's Fables' And When It's Over is missing the break in the middle and at the end.

You mean "found a child"? Is it missing the "bust a move" break or just the intro drums?

... and those Aasop's Fables drums are grimey as hell. Dope.

Gap Band - Outstanding

Johnny Guitar Watson - Superman Lover

Ballin Jack has the Bust a Move break in the middle, No intro drums..

Intro drums - bust a move still busts a move.

The 12" version's only 3:30 anyway, wtf not like they had to shorten it.

I wonder what the rationale was behind that. Same thing with Jesse Green's "Flip", which is only three and a half minutes without the instrumental part in the middle

The 12" version of Parliament's 'Do That Stuff' - or rather, some pressings of it - have an intro break, and the 45 does not. I forget if the album version has the intro break or not.

The version on The Clones Of Dr. Funkenstein album has the break as well.

Dang that "Messages from the stars" 7" was on Discogs forever then I made this thread and now it's gone.

There are more but they are hella $$$.

Long Red 45 no break Intro, but a little Break in the middle.

Got two copies of Southside Movements with a shorter Break.
