Greetings.

Paul Winley released Afrika Bambaataa - Death Mix Live in 1983 . It was a cassette to vinyl transfer of a live event. The credits state that it was recorded at James Monroe High School, Bronx, N.Y. The audio quality is poor but it is a rare quintessential glimpse of the disco rap era of Hip Hop. With infectious breaks , vocal delay , low torque turntables & record skipping.

The source.

Was this recording really a single event? The mc's disappear at the end of the original recording. A.. B. is also displeased with the product & Paul Winley in this interview in David Toop book from 1984. Ive contacted Jazzy Jay & many from the tape trading , old school scene & also Universities which archive Hip Hop. I would welcome more details .
