alright, i gotta say...jimi hendrix / curtis knight - hush nowfucking perfection. never ever ever ever get sick of this song and it gives me the same feeling every time i listen to it.whats your choice?

for me, it's gotta be Roy Ayers, "My life in the Sunshine". Never gets old for me and puts me in a good mood everytime I hear it.

peas.

Johnny Burnette & the Rock n Roll Trio: The Train Kept a-Rollin'

(where R&B & country truly combine to create early Rock & Roll's finest moment)

The Clovers: Blue Velvet

(where the Clovers out-popped every vocal group that stole the soul)

The Kinks: Waterloo Sunset

(where Dave Davies created a song so flawless, it can be proven mathematically)

Billie Holiday: Let's Dream in the Moonlight (w/Teddy Wilson & Lester Young)

(where Billie paints a perfect image of weary innocence)

I could keep going but I'll stop...

this changes every 2 seconds.. but as of right now

john fitch and the associates - romantic attitude
clarence coulter - ride on

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - pure PERFECTION:

Betty Harris - There's A Break In The Road

ok let me add a perfect funk 45 category to my mind, and then YES, right on the money

fucking fantastic song.

For slow jams I gotta go with:

William DeVaughn - Be Thankful For What You Got
Al Green - I'm Still In Love With You

I was listening to syl johnson - take me to the river. The song is perfect. So is Al green's...my pefect song always changes as well.

Terry Callier "Ordinary Joe"
Ennio Morricone "Vamos a Matar, Compa??eros!"
Krown Rulers "Kick The Ball"
Darondo "Didn't I"

an obvious classic but perfect nonetheless:
"what's going on"-marvin gaye

another obvious classic that nears perfection:
i only have eyes for you-the flamingos

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - pure PERFECTION:

Betty Harris - There's A Break In The Road
I'd rather mention the B side: "ALL I WANT IS YOU"...

right now I would say Beach Boys - I just wasn't made for these times , or pretty much any song on Pet Sounds right now.

Also Beach Boys related Brian Wilson - Surf's up

I think it's the summer weather hittin' me.

For me, Beth Orton--Stars All Seem To Weep

John Coltrane's version of Lush Life is just perfect, especially the part at about 2 minutes into the song after the intro might be the most beautiful moment in music I know.

Curtis Mayfield "Right On For The Darkness"

I will never never never get tired of hearing this song. Emotional singing, heavy lyrics, tight band,

arrangement. God, those strings kill me every time. Classic. Perfect.

Curtis Mayfield - Move on Up... i've loved that joint since i was a youngin and it still does the same thing to me, its incredible.

and Bernard Purdies 'whatcha see is whatcha get' always gets me hype, just the way the horns and the vocals go together, i cant stop myself from singing along with it in my own terrible way. Shit is just fantastic. BA DA BA DA ba dadaadadaaaaaaa oooooo! or suttin like that.
