I'm heading to the American Library Association conference in Anaheim this weekend. I'll have a rental car and I'm looking for things to do in the L.A. area in the evenings. DJ nights, shows ... anything. I'll probably just hang out at bars with some friends, but if there's something good going on, I'd love to know.
Also, any suggestions for record shops with relatively well organized 45 sections and listening stations? Something like Good Records? I won't have much time for lengthy digs and I'm not hunting for grails ... just a spot I can pop in for an hour or so and find a handful of soul 45s ($20-$50 range). I'll probably pop into Amoeba, but I'd love to know about smaller spots. [and I will look at the Strut City Guide]
