Nice post!

Last night Wifey and I listened to Jackie McLean-Jackie's Bag LP while eating spaghetti.

Other favorites during the dinner hour:

LOTS of Bossa Nova/Brasilian joints - Jobim, Marcos Valle, Jorge Ben, Azymuth, Gilberto, Gal Costa, Etc..

Miles - Sketches of Spain

Ahmad Jamal - The Awakening LP, 73 LP

Lots of 70s Japanese joints as well

eating my Lunch to Some Dizzy Gillespie Soul & Salvation right now... I'ma need some Yoga Man to help me digest

manu chao- clandestino
a little up-beat for dinner no? I'm about the real mellow shit like the bossa, jazz that's not hard bop. Miles davis Skethes of Spain, Classical, Folk mellow sounds to help you digest and keep you at the table a little longer (for this same reason I preffer CD's for the dinner music, no pain in the ass record fliping while I'm trying to eat and conversate)

can't hear music while I'm eating.....don't know why but I enjoy silence or maybe watching news..........but Antonio Jobim and the whole bossa scene is perfect while cookin

i'd have to say that dinner preparation goes to Joe Henderson - Blue Note era and Hank Mobley. Not to mention Jackie McLean, Ike Quebec, Sonny Criss- Sonny's Dream... etc.

John Abercrombie is good music for eating to and I have been listening to John Martyn Solid Air lp with dinner recently. Nina Simone is another favorite
