    Joe Frank, who rideth?

I used to tape his show off WFMU every week about 10-15 years ago. My favorite episode detailed his ascent of K2. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that episode is in the torrent. Ever since moving out of WFMU's broadcasting range, I haven't caught the show, but it could still...

School me on Panton and Supraphon

Prudy is another band to look out for (they have several songs featured in the video I posted). Zvonte Zvonky seems to be the record most folks sweat; tends to fetch a decent price. I think it's a decent record with a couple of great tracks (and a few that are far less than great)...

School me on Panton and Supraphon

Not so much a 'schooling,' but I put several Panton and Supraphon tracks on this here mix: http://www.divshare.com/download/14537846-e2e The stuff on here tends towards the garagier side of beat (particularly with the Czech stuff). Here's the tracklist...

    Rep Your Curry

Not sure if this would properly be called a 'curry,' as it's south Indian (a recipe modified from one belonging to my Tamil girlfriend's mother's); but: 4 medium - large potatoes 2-4 tablespoons black mustard seeds 2-4 tablespoons dried lentils (forget the exact kind) Many leaves of coriander...

    Albums with Guns...

Purchased this primarily for the gun cover; stuck around for the musics:

moving to new jersey - new brunswick area

From memory (I haven't lived in New Brunswick for about 3 years), this time of the year you'd be hard-pressed to find a place(as you'd be competing with student-folk for living-space). You may be better off trying Highland Park. But if you insist on NB, maybe search listings in the Rutgers...

    DJ DOMINATION (omg, wtf related???)

This guy had a full length video that came with some Gemini belt-driven tables many years ago (think it was around '99-00). Looked like it was made on a VHS camcorder. His motto went, "determination leads to domination." I've also seen him on Jenny Jones, cutting records with his nose while...

    No lie. They drop.

    A humble gift, etc...

No new news. My cousin talked to Egon once (as he expressed great interest), but has yet to hear anything since; this was a few months ago. I should probably drop dude a message, see whatever happened. Maybe there were some legal issues, not sure. Oh, and my girlfriend dug your bench Jonny.

    A message board equation...

I'm no mathmatician, so I don't know how to set a value to "offshootstatus." But would you say that the Beyond the Groove massive's tastes are a significant departure from The-Breaks'??? I see Waxidermy maybe as backstage at a James Taylor concert v. Soulstrut's grabbing a beer at 2 a.m., still...

    A message board equation...

As the breaks' top poster (biggestlittledude), I can speak on it: the actual correct answer (if the analogy is to be based on offshootstatus), is www.beyondthegroove.net.

national day of silence for internet radio

Friend of mine recently got Warren G's contact info no problem. He's handled (professionally) by his uncle. I'll be moving out of WFMU's broadcast range in a month or so; sad if I couldn't listen anymore, etc.

Unreleased Archie Whitewater (and other FANTASIES)

Hey, appreciate the courtesy and such. Feel free to repost the album as you would. I'd do so myself, but my connection has a tendency to freeze up. As for the progress towards a proper release, seems to be slow moving. I Put Egon in contact with my cousin; I know they talked about it once...

    A humble gift, etc...

The wheels have possibly begun to turn, so we could see a proper release sometime in the (hopefully near) future, assuming all legal matters are sort-out-able.

    What are you reading?

Alan Watts, in his lecture series that used to air on WFMU, gave a nice lecture on Chesterton. Worth checking out if you can find it (I have it on Cassette in some box somewhere). Talks a lot about music in that same lecture, and music's relation to life (neither are 'end' oriented pursuits).
