    Ethel Beatty

Are there any records you'd recommend that she's sang on that were released after her Uno Melodic 12". Such a shame she didn't make an album with Ayers like Sylvia Striplin.

    Michael Che

Any NYC/Statesiders been to see him? Got tickets to watch him this Saturday. One of the few performers at Edinburgh Fringe that I've seen universal good reports for.

Fred Wesley and the New JB's

Are they worth seeing live nowadays? I got a ticket for Funkmasters approximately 7 years ago and thought they were ok at best. Fred Wesley is playing in my town again soon with the New JB's and I'll probably attend regardless.

    The Congos in 2013

Has anyone see them play live recently? I'm picking up a bunch of tickets for me and a few friends who will be treating it as a quasi religious experience I'm sure.

    Discogs High Rated Albums

Listening to Roller Disco by Roundtree just now. Hard to believe it scores higher than most of Roy Ayers' 70's output that I've spent the best part of today listening to. How closely do you follow their ratings?

Thundercat - The Golden Age of Apocalypse

Enjoying this album a lot upon first listen. Co produced by Flying Lotus and so far I think I prefer it to Until The Quiet Comes which is high praise. Sounds a bit less jazzy than Lotus and a bit more soulful in places.
