I'm very wary of PVC sleeves, I have a few records that were ruined by them. I get all my sleeves from Sleeve City, quality is great and they have sales all the time.

I found this in a thrift store a few years ago, perfect size for 45's and made of steel so it will outlive me.

With valuable records I usually replace the paper sleeve with a nice Mobile Fidelity sleeve but if the original sleeve has lyrics, pictures, etc on it I'll keep the sleeve in the cover just for completeness sake. Sometimes the record won't fit in the cover with the original sleeve and the new...

I'd go with 81 or 82. Not much for the beat diggers but for the other music I love that is a real sweet spot.
