    Dogpatch Podcast

So I just finished Dogpatch and am now looking for any similar podcast that people care to recommend? I check Questlove's one if he has an interesting guest; however, they don't play tracks. Its also painful sometimes waiting 1-3 minutes for Quest to articulate the question he wants to ask the...

I still need rocking chair, never pops up in the wild here in Sydney. Snowflakes is great, Sheep and Arks actually hipped me to that years ago. It took a few more years before I realised it had that Slum Village sample on it!

    Dogpatch Podcast

Thanks for hipping me with this. I'm three episodes in and enjoying it greatly, listening on the daily commute. I am getting strange looks from my fellow commuters, as every second track or so makes me do a stank face :facemelt: . It's a shame so much of it is unreleased material.

It's been quiet this year so far, so this is the last haul before the end of the year. Found a ton of reggae joints, Yellowman, Horace Andy, Jackie Mitto, Tappa Zukie ect. Speaking to the owner of the store, he told me that all these came from a DJ who had passed away, and his brother was...

Goodbye 2025. Soul Strut lives on in 2026.

Thanks Ketan! Oh Damn Electrode, that sounds painful. Get better, homie. Booze can really mess up your life. My brother-in-law nearly drank himself to death this year. Thankfully, a near-death experience seems to have straightened him out. Klemzer, you're bucking the trend; everyone seems to...

Goodbye 2025. Soul Strut lives on in 2026.

I made some real-world moves in 2025. Got married and moved ( 35 boxes of records, something I'm not in any rush to have to do again). Looking forward to hopefully some international travel and record digging in 2026. Happy New Year, everyone.

Oh crazy, I tried to join last year and never got a response. Guess it's time to re-read all the waxi vs strut beef threads in the archives.

I don't recall seeing too many of DW2 in the wild. A mate hipped me to it about 20 years ago, and this is the first time I've seen a copy. It's not expensive, just does not turn up. I think it sold poorly, bitd. Death Wish one is awesome!

    Beauty The Beat sample FAQ?

I went to listen to this the other day, and I must have sold it and forgotten. I do have the three or four 12" singles from it. I will have to content myself with those.

Just a couple this week. Still sealed reissues of some black jazz titles and they are smoking. I don’t really buy reissues much, but seeing as the prices of these are high and you rarely see the OG I thought why not. Coverless Roy Ayers & Fela Kuti enough said. Late 70s Curtis, a little disco...

A couple of decent 45s and a coverless Fred Wesley that I rescued from a crate of records a friend of mine was gonna toss. Actually traded in the rest of the 45s at the local spot for some credit. I was surprised that they wanted them, as I thought they were all rinked.

    Record collecting still popular?

Oh, it's not a disaster for records at all. I'm seeing titles I've never seen before out in the field and at prices way down from what they would have commanded twenty years ago. The flip side is that many "rare" titles, talked about here in the Strut have tripled in price. I see that the...
