I need to reach them to help clear an Amanda Ambrose song but there's very little info I can find on how to reach the folks who used to run the label. If anyone knows, holla. Thanks,Oliver

If you're really in a pinch, check with the scientologists.
That Amanda Ambrose record crawls with them.

Please forgive me for recommending that anyone reach out to these maniacs.

Whoa, are you serious?

Damn, yeah, L. Ron gets a shout out for "spiritual guidance."

Scurry.

I'd start with whoever Ascap or BMI has listed for publishing. Once you get in touch with them, they may have some inclination as to whether or not there is anyone to clear through.

Beegee was a semi-religious label based in Los Angeles and owned by Byron R. Spears. In addition to Beegee, Spears also ran the Bye You and Eternal labels. In 1972, the head of publishing for Beegee Productions was one James Bryan. I'm sure there's got to be something in BMI or ASCAP for this company.

Here's a few 45s I know on the label, I'm sure there are many more:

111 Shelton Kilby and Counterpoint "Zambezi/ Same" 1973
112 Power "Bye Girl/ Peace Of Mind"
120 Geary Faggett Ensemble "Lean On Me (Him)/ Get It Together"

Kilby went on to a minorly successful career in the nu-gospel/light Christian arenas throughout the late '70s and early '80s.

Don't get too worked up about it. It's a two-tracker IMO. "Poor Wayfaring Stranger" and "Into The Woods" are very good, but the rest is

It's the only Beegee item I own, though. I'd like to hear some of those singles. A Kilby version of "Zambezi" - yes please.

'yield not to temptation' is the dopest track on there IMO
