hi T!

i like this record and for 5 bucks, why not. doesn't really turn up much in bins like his other titles:

here's another good canadian record. second pressing but it doesn;t turn up that much and the music is excellent:

what standsout on that? i remember it being a pleasant soothing listen, but nothing absolutely gripping (at least in a nice drum pattern kindof way) like Devika or expansions. plaese to school me if i missed something, cause it languishes on my shelves somewhere

funny enough, it had been languishing on my shelves for ages until my girl put it on at random the other day and i got sucked in. it's def. more on the spirtual, modal tip with the drones and indian instruments and it goes slighlty free at times. it has no breaks or tight drum patterns i can recall (although its david lee jr. on traps). cecil mcbee does his thing. "astral travelling" is the standout as i recall.

yup. definitely nice. i could play this when i go to my folks for dinner...anything with heavy drums or too upbeat just wont do for some reason with them. the parent night classics are ahmad jamal at the pershing and the light blue buster williams record.

I bought this the second it appeared although I'm not even that keen on it.
