His recent album on Atlantic, the whole thing is good. I haven't heard the new Calle 13 album, but I liked the reggaeton-flavored tracks I heard from the first, and the rest of the album is more hip-hop oriented. They're a bit like Plastilina Mosh meets Slug.

Cool, I'll check it out. I'm not a big reggaeton fan (same complaints) but my girl is.
Reggaeton Girls Night Out

Which one is my girl. I'll give you a hint. She's the only one that's not Latina.

I too was wondering about this, and the reason was because I was re-visiting Tego Calderon's- El Subestimado, and wishing there were more records like it.

Big up to Cardova for the hot tip a while back.

There are very few artists on the level of Tego & Calle 13.

Other than them I'd reccomend checking out Mr. Fox -- he's more or less the king of the very strong Panamanian underground.

I thought from the title this was about Johnny's new venture/expansion into Brooklyn:

Grand opening July '07 y'all!
