What's the antagonist? Where's the drama?

Come on LaserWolf. I'm sure you have a bigger imagination then you are leading us to believe. OK, Right now Hollywood doesn't love Isaac Hayes enough to make a movie about him. He's got a spot in the Rock n Roll hall of fame, Academy awards and Grammys. One of the most distinguished careers of anyone in Memphis, Tennessee. In his prime he was one of the most beloved figures in entertainment.





I agree with you that Biopic films aren't even big money generators at the Box Office. Seeing as how I have no means to properly produce this film. I'm talking purely from a fan's perspective Isaac Hayes transcended just being an actor or a musician and is a true 70's icon.





Come on bro, Isaac Hayes lived to be 65 years old. Don't you think you could get a 2 hour movie out of the 569,725 hours that he lived? Personally, I feel that traditional biopic films fail by trying to cover the whole musicians life anyways.





I'd love to see a film with him just during the Stax era co-writing Soul Man for Sam and Dave.

Yes, my big complaint about bio-pics is the scope.





Still I don't see the Hollywood there.


They want tension/release, The Fall/The Redemption, love lost/love found.


They don't want people sitting around a piano wondering what comes after the first verse.

Going to highly recommend you check out the new Brian Wilson movie. The scenes where they recreate him creating Pet Sounds with the Wrecking crew are incredible!

recreations, reenactments are typically the cheesiest and worst part of an movie or doc. trying to think of even one that was done well aside from "thin blue line". as batmon said, who needs to see some issaac hayes impersonator wearing the gold chain vest and shades?

I dont know if he was the first but that contribution could be Hollywooded.

Trust me they do a great homage to Carole Kaye in the movie. Also I noticed Van Dyke Parks, Phil Spector, and Hal Blaine.
