Bjarne Rostvold/Perry Knudsen "Magonde (Song For Big Chief)"
Original Popcorn "Sweet Popcorn pt. 1 + 2

Nonstop

are we calling them breaks if they're breakdowns or any open drums that go on forever?

I gotta throw Richard Berry's "Wild Berry" in there too.

Aposento Alto
Is it really that long? More than 8 bars?
not sure. i guess i was thinking about the entire drum solo. the break goes into the free drumming and then back to the break

Good question. I prob should have defined my terms more explicitly. It doesn't have to be a breakdown in the middle of a track, just open 4/4 drums at any point in a song.

The Niagara counts b/c it's a syncopated 4/4 rhythm almost throughout. So far I think thats the longest. The ones I mentioned above are at most 2.5-3 min long.

I'm surprised there aren't more references to live stuff.

Oh yeah, Bizzo, is that entire track all drums? I thought I remembered some piano and other jazz instrumentation on that.

It's no Sangandongo but Black Pearls version of Cold sweat is nothing to scoff at - re: live versions.
