So I DJ and scratch… so this isn’t a question for listening use only.

I just got Nagaoka DJ44-G styli to replace my beat up m44-7’s. First replacements in like 20 years.

This is embarrassing… but I just realized my left and right carts have been mounted differently all these years…

One cart is all the way to the back of the headshell, and the other is forward a little, and flush with the front of the headshell.

Also, as far as my technics settings… anti skate zero, weight at 2.5 (nagaoka’s run 2 to 3.5g), and height on both decks are seized up at 3.

I’ve read the shure documentation, and see they recommend back if the headshell mount for “standard DJ” setup, and flush with the headshell for “unorthodox DJ” setup.

Although, I’ve had it this way for years with the m44-7’s, I want both carts mounted the same, and since these new styli are skippy while I’m breaking them in, I’m second guessing the best setup.

I scratch, but not strictly, so I’d like a happy medium between scratch DJ use, while not ruining my raers!

Wonder what the veterans on here have been running for settings on the tonearm and cart placement on the headshell.

Thanks in advance!
