seriously though, i'm surprised people are strictly paying tribute to the man's work, as if the allegations never existed. this isn't a hallmark card that's being sent to his family.

I was strapped into the dentist chair, getting the worst filling ever. They had the drills going for a LONG time, and then clamped my teeth into some brackets. Straight Wave Twisters Inner Space Dental Commander Steezo.
Then another dentist comes in and tells us. I couldn't believe it. Thinking how crazy it was the Farrah was gone and BAM! My mind wasn't even on the dental work after that.
On my way out they were saying that it was only TMZ that reported so it may not be true. I said "It's true. That would be pretty embarrassing for TMZ to make a mistake like that." You may not like what they report on but they are not the Enquirer. Their info is usually legit.

kenny gamble came on the radio to be interviewed about working with michael on 'goin places' and said how he was so quiet and shy yet when he was on stage he was possibly the most electrifying performer ever he saw. he also expressed worry that michaels troubles would be discussed in a manner overshadowing his talent. either way people are talking about this in the most remote parts of the planet tonight. he was the last real superstar that i can think of who wasn't forced upon us. and to have that power it's no wonder he was troubled and very private.

I am stunned and shocked and extremely sad. He was my hero and I always held him at the highest esteem. I always wished I could have met him. I wish him a peaceful journey. This is the death of my childhood!

I understand where you're coming from. But that's how Soulstrut likes to eulogize, so in fairness to the wishes of the masses it's probably not worth it. But I do encourage you to start another thread.
But, I'm of the similar vein that it seems to be a disservice to reality to ignore the huge controversy surrounding the guy, even in death. Similar to your O.J. argument, in fact.

Shifting gears, I was also a little saddened to hear of him passing. Simply because he was such a huge media sensation throughout most of the early part of my life - I really subconsciously expected him to go another couple decades as an eccentric, reclusive popular figure. An end of a certain era, I guess you could say.
