Since soulstrut is now videogamestrut, can someone tell me some simple, self contained PC games that are good for killing time on a notebook? Note: Completely self contained games (that don't need internet, a controller, a manual, a CD, etc).
this thing is a bit of a pain to setup as it uses the old dos interface and keycommands but it's worth it. So yeah if you like DOS games then your set...
other stuff to play on PC is all the emulators of every game system put out before the year 2000. Also modern windows games of course such as all the stuff that blizzard has made...
Let me say I haven't explored any dungeon's since Bard's Tale III. Fallout seems difficult... can I get WASTELAND instead?
Imagine you are recommending a game for your Grandpa. Give me virtual snooker or tetris 2008 or something.
Thanks for the ideas though... I used to play the hell out of some Doom. Maybe I'll revisit that one. Or take it back to Wolfenstein 3D.
Or maybe there is a good commodore 64 emulator out there? I've tried the emulators before and they usually don't do it for me but maybe they have improved since I last tried.
I figure it will go like this... I'll spend the whole time trying to get the games to play right in the emulator, which, in the long run works as trying to get software to work makes time go by as quickly as using the software.
I put on dosbox and grabbed some DOS games from various sites.. CIV and DOOM2 would be cool but so far can't get sound fx on DOOM2 (gotta have the sound). The midi music is rockin though.
