Q-Tip

It's plenty likeable.<b,121<b,121I don't think it's really anything new from Tip, sounds pretty much like the sound he's been building over the last 5+ years.<b,121<b,121Not bad, not AMAZING

Feeling it... you usually cant lose with the trusty but tricky three bar melody... examples include "Lyrics To Go", "Stakes Is High" and ofcourse "Electric Relaxation" amoung others...<b,121<b,121Did he really have Dilla on a fusked up production deal that forced Jay to produce under the John Doe name. Just curious, not trying to change the topic or bunch panties.

james yancey was john doe before he was jay-dee. peep the first down 12" on pay day then he went to j dilla to stop the confusion between him and janet jackson's current husband. at least i think so. i think that his problem with tip was that producing under the "ummah" name limited his presence/name recognition in the industry and he was trying to make bigger moves at the time.<b,121<b,121q-tip is dope. his new album is not that amazing, but i think you can blame that on him having major problems with major labels. some of the songs on his new joint were on the arista album that never came out. hopefully with that music seeing official release he can move on to some other sh*t.<b,121<b,121i'm feeling the "gettin up" joint (pause) as well. i think madlib did the beat. madlib can be hit or miss for me, but i think he and tip could make a classic together. madlib needs a good "editor" and tip could be that.<b,121<b,121anyway....

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121<b,121i don't know shit about music so can i ask a dumb question?1<b,121<b,121is it a three bar melody because there's a group of three piano chords then pause then two groups squeezed together after?<b,121<b,121the song is just ok but i like the piano loop, very wistful.

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121For most hip-hop songs, a "bar" = 4 beats so a one bar loop goes on for four beats whereas a three bar loop goes on for 12.

I want to like this song. I really do. It's catchy, but it still lacks something. <b,121<b,121Maybe Q Tip can make some loot with this. <b,121<b,121<b,121Is Q Tip down with The Fat Boys now? <b,121<b,121<img src="http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y288/puchito/disorderlies.jpg"1<b,121<b,121<b,121<b,121<b,121<b,121With the racoon skin hat and all. <b,121<b,121Just wondering.

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121And to add, a loop is usually 1, 2 or 4 bars, rarely 3. It has nothing to do with the melody. It's about the timing/duration of the loop.
