RECORD DAY 2010 IS TODAY! (Post Rips Here)

musica said:Alright, this was one of my top two records that I got my hands on in 2010, and no doubt one of the best records I've heard in a long time. Top Bay Area jazz funk with just a stellar vibe throughout. Everything about this privately pressed LP from Oakland, CA is a total work of art; from the handprinted, silkscreened cover (each one is a slightly different shade of blue from what I gather) to the beautifully handwritten notes on the back urging the person in possession of this magical musical remedy to:

"Take this medication for anxiety, fatigue, dispair (sic), loneliness, dosage: 1-3 times daily. -Dr. Jones"

Yessir!

Hope it has the same robust effect on all of y'all that it does on me.

This is very, very nice. Thanks for posting.

Hi!

I'm removed from ripping-possibilities at the moment, but thought I'd share this mega-rare, recently comped slice of Norwegian fusion-funk-fuzz-freak-out on Compendium by Vanessa:

I don't have an image of the album-art, but it was sold to someone on this board during the Heatrocks auction who might put some pics up.

A record I DO still have (but not in the vicinity, so no pics of this one either), is prized Harp-Funker Johnny Teupen's second album on MPS, "Harporhythm"

Enjoy Record Day!

Now, may I request some psych?

I don't have access to my turntable or records (just moved to seattle from oakland) but here are a few 320 rips I've done in the past that I've never shared here. Most of them can be found on my website: rkellysbabygoatsanctuary.com. None of them are exceptionally obscure, but all are quality!

Tune. Was a want for over 5 years and finally got a cheap one on ebay a couple of weeks ago -- was thinking about posting it actually. That is of course the lead singer of the Skullsnaps, might have been others involved from the Pazant Bros as well but I can't remember now.

Martinique (the cover image was used for some comp I think - and describes the music pretty well!)
