I know there is 2026 RIP thread, but maybe he deserves an own thread.
I sadly never met him but his Dusty Fingers series was an eye opener for me and hipped me to so much new music, especially from the library and soundtrack genre.
Who can remember his own board he had for a while in the late 00s? Pap hit me up on time and was very secretive about it (if I remember correctly). Then I got an invite and it was Danny doing his own message board. But it didn't last long, Soulstrut was just too established.

Would love the read some of your stories about and experiences with him.

RIP Danny

Are you familiar with any details?
Have not been able to find anything online.

Like yourself, I never met him.
I'm not from the US, and only knew him from listening to Dusty Fingers.

In any case - RIP

Danny Dan was active on many sub platforms. Many of his compilations were de listed from discogs. But he continued with digital releases.
Some are rearrangements or instrumentals of the multi-tracks of classic break beats.

Sad news. I never had the honor of meeting Danny. This place would NOT exist if it were not for his comps. I was a HUGE Tribe fan in the mid to late 90s and his Tribe Called Quest sample comp blew my mind. It made me want to start digging and find the OGs. Same for Dusty Fingers. RIP.

Break Beat Lou references a conversation with Danny Dan & input from Danny in this boiler room documentary.

The Dusty fingers compilation was at volume sixty in 2021

Danny Dan was the best! I got to talk to him a few years ago and grabbed a few dusty fingers comps.
He changed the way I listened to music for sure. RIP

Can anyone here identify the track he plays at the beginning of this mix? He always had the fire sh$t.

It's Christian Bruhn "Die Schwarze Nelke" from the soundtrack to the German childrens TV show "Tim Thaler:
