45s that are missing the break/intro/sample compared to the 12” or album versions.

All my 7" copies of the following have the full break
  • Jesse Green "Flip"
  • Johnny Guitar Watson "Superman Lover"
  • Juice "Catch a Groove"
  • Ballin' Jack "Found a Child"

Double checked my Superman Lover 45.. guess the break is there but its only 2 bars long compared to the 8 on the lp. Also missing the 4 bars of groove before the verse comes in. Verse comes in straight after the horn stabs. Other little edits within the track too.. shorter guitar solo and stuff like that.

Looks like the other copies Ive seen, US pressing black label. Styrine. Would love a vinyl copy with the full break!

My Tryrone Davis isnt missing anything far as I can tell. Dont have the LP so cant compare but the part at the start that the Beatnuts looped is there.

Thanks strutters.

P.S. I didn't know that Ballin' Jack song and now I do! Man that's dope.

i dont have it and i never saw it but aint we funkin now cant have the break on 7. don t think its on the lp either

There's a 45 version of Bob James - Take me to the Mardi Gras.... ah forget it too obvious ;)

Edwin Starr - I Just Wanna Do My Thing - Intro break only.
ZZ Top - It's only love - Shortened break.

That's good to know, though it looks like the Deathbreaks re-issue 45 has the long version w the break.

:real_headz:

I can't argue that but I'd like a couple copies regardless.

Ended up getting a Ballin' Jack 7" offa the internet (Brazillian pressing). It turned out to be the full version with the intro drums (@33.3rpm w/ small hole).

Theme from SWAT.
I have the 45.
I never realized how long the break is in the LP till my buddy played it for me the other day.

Blackbyrds - Rock Creek Park 45

Missing the intro.

Huh I only have the "collectors" 45. I'll check it out.

Mine is a pic sleeve German press on Fantasy/Parlophone. Couldn't pass it up, but didn't know the intro was missing till I took it home!

No break at the beginning, but Aesop's Fables' And When It's Over is missing the break in the middle and at the end.

Was going to mention this one. Had the LP but ebayed it while I was at Univ, years later picked up the 45 just for the break and damn, not there.
