srsly tho whoever priced that at five bucks should be kicked out of the junkin business. that fork has to be a clue...and I'm sure it was light as hell...

Fucking Fed Ex...

So we've got this new frame coming out this year, and we got a couple samples to show off to media, etc. This is how one of them arrived.

yeah, for real - I see the crappiest beater bikes at yard sales and they STILL want at least $10 ... $5 is just weird.

Maybe they figured the Landis connection made it 100% undesirable.

day one hundred and six: ulnar pins removed. the other three remain, holding my scaphoid together (and to my lunate bone)...CT scan yesterday showed what xrays did not; that there is some "bone bridging" between the living and dead halves of the bone. Put on your hammerpants and pray for me. And pray for the proximal pole of my left scaphoid. For we need to bring it back to life, back to reality, so I may once again grasp a handlebar and swoop a berm.

ugh.

oh f*ck, that's terrible. You work for Look? They make some incredible bikes - you got the hookup? : )

Question - Arent you supposed to ship bikes unassembled? Do you think that the fact that the wheel was attached to fork could have contributed to damage?

yeah, I was wondering about that fully-assembled bike, too, but the damage is pretty hardcroe.

yeah dude, holleur if you work for look. i need me a frame of theirs. was about to buy an '09 colnago frameset yesterday but am just waiting instead.

I am inclined to agree with him.

ha! Yeah, that thing is worked!

Chas, is it true all the higher ends looks are built in algeria? painted and "manufactured in france"

whatevers if so, just curious as I have debating with a co worker about this. I could give a rats ass, my 585 rides pretty sweet, although it says made in france on the down tube.

the new whip: (pic not mine)

19300513.jpg

GOrilla Kilroy frame, NS fork, profile cranks, holdfast straps, atomlab bars/stem and dual 26" with 2.3s, perfect for stair gaps and jumps. :D

Plus it comes in at around 22 lbs, strong as hell!!!

:beerbang:

I know there are a lot of fixed haters in here, but just thought I'd share.

Exactly the kind of bike I want.

I like a bike to have a decent weight so I don't feel like a strong breeze will blow me off the bike.

That is a tough-looking bike. I wouldn't want to pick a fight with it. The seat tube kink is making me feel drunk; it's like a bar brawler's broken nose. LHD - so it is! Didn't spot that.

I ran huge fatties on an mtb I commuted on a while back but it felt like I was sprinting with cushions on my feet when silver-fox-category guys on racers blew past. Of course it depends on your regular terrain but on 2 mile stretches of tarmac it felt like inefficiency incarnate.

That Look frame looks like deliberate...

Serious, I would be checking for truck tyre tracks on the box.

Gone for the single filth-prophylactic? The guy who can make sexy mudguards (Fenders for you my xAtlantic chums) will er... clean up? I reckon 29er offroad tyres cut down and fitted really snug would look passable; their rugged good-looks besting the forever dorklike concession to practicality.
