Brazilian Video Face Melters

Bang Bang is a dope movie! It got a decent DVD release some years back, along with a few other underground films from that time.

Check out The Red Light Bandit (O Bandido da Luz Vermelha), which is even better

Will do. I've only seen two of the cinema novo 60s: "Black God, White Devil" and "Entranced Earth".

My mom and her husband, who plays piano and guitar, like this small performance space in North Hollywood where mostly local folky singer-songwriters play in front of a little audience on Tuesdays and get their sets livestreamed. Going through their videos, I saw that Sonia Santos did a couple of shows there.

I listened to that Donato/Deodato record again (and again...) while reorganizing the collection last week. Then this happened to play on the local radio the other day:

I just learned after all these years that these guys are Brazilian

Version of Gil's catchy theme from the childrens TV show:

More Brazilian reggae from the lead singer of Grupo Karetas. This song resonates with those from the north.

I've never seen this! More detailed than, for example, Tommy Igoe's DVD breakdown of Brazilian rhythms. Or that Chevron record. I learned a lot here.

Here is the drum instructional video with Airto. Some video sequences are already in the percussion instructional video.
