Never really read any comics as a kid but I just started reading some a few months ago and have been really geeking out. <b,121<b,121So far I have read:<b,121<b,121The League of Extraordinary Gentleman 1 and 2<b,121The Watchman<b,121The Killing Joke<b,121v for Vedetta<b,121Batman: Year One<b,121<b,121Right now I am reading Ronin.<b,121<b,121<b,121What else should I be reading, there is so much to chose from?

Batman: The Dark Knight Returns<b,121<b,121Off the top of my heads the Jim Lee/Chris Claremont X-Men's were always good.

seeing two titles by Alan Moore on your list... FROM HELL is his best work, IMO.<b,121<b,121I was into DMZ for a while.<b,121<b,121I mostly read indie "comix" like American Splendor...

Quote:</font1<h,121<b,121Batman: The Dark Knight Returns<b,121<b,121<h,121[/quote]<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121oh man this was so awesome when it came out. it still is!<b,121<b,121i liked the longbow hunters, emerald dawn [?] or some such, it was a green latern joint. the aliens comics on dark horse. punisher the first mini series. i remember liking dark horse presents a lot cuz it was like one of them old format comics where there are 4 smaller stories in 1 book. anyways, i liked grendel, concrete and aliens vs. predator.

<font class="post"1<b,121<b,121Every store I went to had from the second issue on. I just ordered this online on Friday.

If you're just checking out graphic novels, I recommend 100 Bullets, Preacher, Y The last Man, the Authority and Planetary. Seriously good shiet IMO. <b,121<b,121Oh yeah, no "comic" collection is complete w/o Lone Wolf and Cub.

<img src="http://www.coverbrowser.com/image/bestselling-comics-2006/2775-1.jpg"1<b,121<b,121This is some next-level visual storytelling that has yet to be surpassed, IMO. But then again I am an old-school comic book head.<b,121<b,121For newer stuff, I liked this series<b,121<b,121<img src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/1/1b/Avengers_Forever.jpg/250px-Avengers_Forever.jpg"1

cosine on Y The Last Man... it's really good for a non'traditional' comic book. I liked the Ultimates and Ultimate Spider-Man, tho a lot of people didn't feel the same way. But I thought the art and storylines were good in both titles, tho Ultimate Spider-Man kinda fell off after the Venom issues. The first few trade paperbacks of each title are worth the read and you can probably frind them at a library..<b,121<b,121I would also recommend reading Watchmen and Kingdom Come. I have never met anyone that didn't like those books.

My favorites of my early pre-teen & early teenage years:<b,121<b,121CEREBUS<b,121LOVE & ROCKETS<b,121AMERICAN SPLENDOR<b,121MOON KNIGHT (the original Siencowicz series)<b,121RONIN<b,121X-MEN (John Byrne and the first Paul Smiths)<b,121TOMB OF DRACULA<b,121JUDGE DREDD<b,121<b,121I read almost all of the big Marvel and several of the big DC titles of the time (1980-1983) but those are the ones that stuck with me the most, and would probably be worth revisiting now.

oh yeah! judge dredd was super tubular as well! the wolverine miniseries was dope. um, frank miller daredevil, mcfarlane spideys, um, um. i forget. i liked crisis as well, though it was a bit unorganized.

I just downloaded Ronin and The Watchmen (complete) last night. Looking forward to reading them.

I dont read that History of Violence stuff.<b,121<b,121The best stories are the arcs within a superhero book.<b,121<b,121Yes, there are incredible epics/limited series/one-offs but i ride for the stories inside the larger ones.<b,121<b,121Like The Speedy on Heroin story arc within the Green Lantern/Green Arrow series.<b,121<b,121Or the Serpent Crown Affair in Marvel Two-In-One.<b,121<b,121Or the GAME CHANGIN' Hellfire Club story where Wolverine emerges as the next level of Superhero back in the 80's.
