I'm pretty sure this gets played on the regular.
Yeah, most of those are played often.
please to show me this club/party in the SF/bay area. i will dance like Haring at the Garage - or just a dude whos happy to hear some "not-98.1-played-out-old-school" good disco tunes.

GQ - Disco Nights (Rock Freak)
Secret Weapon - Must Be The Music
Skyy - High
Eastside Connection - You're So Right For Me
Pleasure - Joyous
Willie Hutch - Brothers Gonna Work It Out
That's more like it. And for Cerrone "Give Me Love" is the real dancefloor track IMO.

Some favourites of mine - they're not all strictly disco, but they usually do the trick

Francine McGee - Delirium (instrumental flip of "Feeling Good")
Azymuth - Jazz Carnival (the GAMM re-edit by Mary Mary is great as well)
Trammps - Where Were You When The Lights Went Out
UHF - We're On The Right Track
Crown Heights Affair - Way Out
Taana Gardner - Work That Body
Players Association - I Like It
T-Connection - At Midnight
Barry White - You See The Trouble With Me
Love Unlimited Orchestra - My Sweet Summer Suite
Evelyn "Champagne" King - Shame
Idris Muhammad - Could Heaven Ever Be Like This
Change - Angel In My Pocket
Inner Life - I Like It Like That

i love the vocal side...how can you go wrong with a woman wailing and moaning about how she's feeling feeling feeling feeling so good?

some current faves:

crown heights affair "say a prayer for two"
bohannon "me and the gang"
edwin birdsong "cola bottle baby"
jermaine jackson and stevie wonder "let's get serious"

A few from the crate right next to me:

Positive Force "We Got The Funk"
Lonnie Liston Smith "Give Peace A Chance (Make Love Not War)
Aquarian Dream "You're A Star"
Atmosfear "Dancing In Outer Space"
Hi-Tension "Hi-Tension"

edwin birdsong "cola bottle baby"
Yes, and the album it comes from has three other dancefloor burners as well:

Goldmine
Lollipop
Phizz Phizz

These three tracks were also released on 12 inch singles with different, better (IMO) versions. Seek 'em out.

SG

I've noticed that Brass Construction often gets hated on, but they've got quality tunes on every LP all the way into the early 80s IMO.

"Tommorow Is Now" is the one I'm feeling at the moment.

Add "Super Disco" by The Rimshots . I like that midtempo disco stuff.

but sadly no 12" for cola bottle baby! that lp is a tough one to catch...just don't see it that often.
some more:

Teena Marie "I Need Your Lovin'"
Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes "Don't leave me this way" and "bad luck"
Peter Tosh "buk-in-hamm palace"
Peter Brown "Dance with me"
Johnny Harris "Odyssey"
Mad Dog Fire Department "Cosmic Funk" (prod. by tommy stewart!)
andy gibb "shadow dancing" 12" version
Bunny Mack "Let me Love You"
Melba Moore "You Stepped Into My Life" and "standing right here" and "promised land"
Giorgio Moroder "Evolution"
Funk Fusion Band "Can you feel it"

haha, yeah, normally i prefer dub versions but in this case i prefer the vocal...how can you go wrong with peter tosh talking about lighting up a spliff in buckingham palace!?

oh, talking about disco:

mass production - welcome to our world of merry music .. is also very ncie.. moodymann sampled it on "music people"

Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes "Don't leave me this way" and "bad luck"
THE LOVE I LOST

also there's one delphonics song that has a cool lite-disco feel, really great vocals, i cant remember the name off the top for some reason

also love the Change song "Angel in my Pocket," real underplayed in my local disco experience.

I can't hear "Supernature" without thinking of the Benny Hill spoof. Probably just me.

Twennynine (Lenny White) - Peanut Butter
Mandre - Freakin's Fine
Gene Chandler - Get Down
Prince - Sexy Dancer, Soft and Wet
Jones Girls - Nights Over Egypt
A Taste of Honey - Rescue Me
Kano - Holly Dolly
Roy Ayers - Freaky Deaky
Arpeggio - Love and Desire
Foxy - Hot Number

I love The Break by Katmandu but that tends to scare people.
