Les McCann - The Morning Song

I think Jim Morrison is supposed to be on that track too, but I guess its questionable.

Sunday Mornin' Comin' Down
Kris Kristofferson

Well I woke up Sunday morning
With no way to hold my head, that didn't hurt
And the beer I had for breakfast
Wasn't bad so I had one more for dessert
Then I fumbled through my closet for my clothes
And found my cleanest dirty shirt
It's the one I'm wearin'
And I shaved my face and combed my hair
And stumbled down the stairs to meet the day

I'd smoked my brain the night before
Or I smoked so much the night before
With cigarettes and songs that I've been pickin'
My mouth was like an ashtray I'd been lickin'
But I lit my first and watched a small kid
Cussin' at a can that he was kicking
Then I crossed the empty street
And caught the Sunday smell of someone fryin' chicken
And it took me back to somethin'
That I'd lost somehow somewhere along the way

Chorus:
On the Sunday morning sidewalks
Wishing Lord that I was stoned
'Cause there is something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone
And there's nothin' short of dyin'
Half as lonesome as the sound
On the sleepin' city side walks
Sunday mornin' comin' down

In the park I saw a daddy
With a laughing little girl who he was swingin'
And I stopped beside a Sunday school
And listened to the song that they were singin'
Then I headed back for home and
Somewhere far away a lonely bell was ringin'
And it echoed thru the canyon like
The disappearing dreams of yesterday.

Chorus:
On the Sunday morning sidewalks
Wishing Lord that I was stoned
'Cause there is something in a Sunday
That makes a body feel alone
And there's nothin' short of dyin'
Half as lonesome as the sound
On the sleepin' city side walks
Sunday mornin' comin' down.

just found this quote:

If you're a big time Hendrix fan you probably posses most of the recordings from Red Lightnin's Woke up this morning and found myself dead - Red House, Wake up this morning, Bleeding Heart, and Sunshine of Your Love are available from numerous sources so when I picked up this CD I wasn't expecting anything new. Alas! Red Lightnin's release features an incredibly drunk, filthy mouthed Jim Morrison! Edited out of my other collections this is truly a bizarre little nugget.

Hendrix is tearing shit up on Bleeding Heart when Morrison grabs the microphone and begins rambling "all night long. I've got a lovely woman... sing my song.." This is followed by a low moan "bbbwwwwaaaaaa." Soon Morrison breaks into a bizarre tirade ... "suck my ass baby ... fuck me all night long!"

Hendrix then begins tearing through "Morrison's Lament," with Jim singing to an angry sounding crowd. "Fuck her in the ass! fuck her in the favorite!" When Morrison begins drifting away from the mic Hendrix politely, and with a laugh, explains to Jim - "sing in that on right there. That's the recording mic." Morrison follows his directions and belts out - "Fuck her in the asshole ... fuck my little woman ... in her little pussy ... little suck ass ... cunt ... little asshole ... fuck you in the ass, my little suck ass cunt."

Hendrix could care less as he works away in a frenzy. A really bizarre recording! One part Hendrix at his raw best - one part insulting drunk debauchery. Recorded in 1968 - check it out!
