NFL 2013 SEASON

rootlesscosmo said:can't bear to watch; may go camping to avoid the hype :(

I decided to move this weekend just to avoid it.

Actually, i wish I could just not move and do something else.

Peyton Manning's the only mega star in the game, Denver and Seattle are small fanbases, right? The giant slide in Times Square will help give it a boost, but yeah. I'm not surprised if it's not worldwide superhyped.

Although I wouldn't know that. Disappeared into the backcountry last week ( :bizzo: ), the land of bearded hippyjocks in patagonia goretex--the "well I don't watch tv" people--to come around a corner and find two dudes with Seahawks jerseys on. So weird. Ice ax- "check." Avalanche transciever- "check." Football jersey- "check! GO HAWKZ!!1!"

So strange.

And no, I don't think it's a good thing.

I don't think the Hawks will have much of a problem containing Denver. The Seahawks have never been known to start 'gunz a blaze' but only because their offensive game plan is more conservative than people give them respect for. They run the ball, eat up clock, and rely on their defense to give them favorable field position to score points (most times). Seattle's defense is basically an offense in it's own.

31-17 Seahawks

:dodododo: Go Hawks!!! :dodododo:

I'm rooting for Seattle.

No one who owns Papa John's Dog Food franchises should ever win a Super Bowl.

From Bill Simmons today:

Q: My buddy and I came up with a great idea for a stoner flick called ???Archie Manning???s Vasectomy.??? Two Boston burnouts somehow find a time machine and go back in time to New Orleans circa 1973. They try to convince Archie Manning that he and the Saints will win the Super Bowl if he has a vasectomy. It???s The Terminator meets Bill & Ted meets Half Baked. What do you think?

???Gabe Perez, Los Angeles

SG: I think you just created something that could potentially leapfrog The Verdict, The Town and The Departed as the most popular Boston movie ever. My biggest note: Definitely name the lead characters ???Murph and Sully.??? And I???d seriously consider throwing them into the title ??? something like Murph and Sully Stop the Mannings, just to avoid the inevitable lawsuit when Archie hires an army of lawyers to stop production of Archie Manning???s Vasectomy. You want to make sure this movie gets made. Even if you???re losing a better title, take consolation in Archie Manning???s Vasectomy becoming the most popular name for a fantasy football team. Which should probably happen anyway.

I'm gonna get black out drunk. See you in a week... This squad did so much for this town!!! This game was ... Yeah....

Go F***kng Hawks!!!!!'

Beautiful game. I was confident that my Hawks would win, but didn't think we would completely dominate. They were so much quicker and so much more physical than the Broncos. It was great to party it up throughout the second half knowing the game was completely in hand. Pretty apparent that the Hawks-49ers was probably the actual Super Bowl.

Final Super Bowl ratings: Most-watched TV event ever!

http://insidetv.ew.com/2014/02/03/super-bowl-ratings-3/

The biggest Super Bowl blowout in two decades had the biggest viewership ever, according to final numbers provided by Fox Sports.

Super Bowl XLVIII delivered an incredible 111.5 million viewers. That???s enough to rank Sunday???s game as the most-watched U.S. TV telecast of all time, edging out 2011???s previous record-holding game.

We here in the Mile High city know when the cause is lost.

I don't think they're wack if the prevailing wisdom is that it will be a close game and/or leaning another side. This wasn't an upset, but a lot of people thought the Broncos would do better than they did (or win).

b/w

This rivalry is shaping up to be like all the Niners-Cowboys NFC championship games in the 80's and 90's, minus us losing the superbowl last year, of course

I will admit, it does seem like the Seahawks future has more upside than the 49ers at this point - our window may be closing in the next few years without some decent draft picks.
