But the guy did ask for POP-psych, so the "wimpy musics" kinda come with the territory.

Don't forget 1967's Revolution!.

According to legend, Raiders' lead singer Mark Lindsay wanted to keep pace with the Beatles, Stones, etc. and get with the psychedelic times, but Paul Revere wasn't hearing it; he wanted to hold on to the 12-year-old consumer's dollar. So he compromised with these poppish psych LP's, although if Lindsay had his way, he would have gone a little farther around the bend. Which he did for real on 1970's Collage album, but by that time their bubblegum image was chiseled in stone and the hippies unfortunately didn't want to know.

Their loss. Some of the best pop-psych was made by Top 40 AM bands trying to "hippen up" their image (also see: Monkees'"Porpoise Song" and "Daily Nightly," as well as Tommy James & the Shondells' albums Crimson & Clover and Cellophane Symphony - not good enuff to play all the way through, but when they're good, they're really good).

Is that guy Ironfeet around? I believe he made that "Cool, Calm, and Collected" mix. The pysch-pop-blue-eyed-soul section of it was really good (along with the rest).
...I'd love a few IDs on some of the songs.

And after that, and right before "Bubbles" with the killer horns and birds chirping

Also, there's the whole Keith West catalogue, him of Tomorrow (great)
& 'Excerpt From A Teenage Opera' (great) fame.

He never really got his solo stuff off the ground, even with stuff like this. Brilliant.

I SO couldn't get into this guy...that Terry Reid compilation that came out two years ago or so sounded like bad classic rock that was left behind for a reason.

and as far as the "wimpy" tag i assigned earlier...I didnt mean wimpy in the sense of too gentle sounding, or too clean and not loud...I meant wimpy as in song writing, playing...something can be gentle as newborn kitten and still not be wimpy.
