RUMORS (hip-hop related)

jay also battled busta in their high school,
Nah man, Busta went to high school on Long Island at Uniondale and BOCES. BOCES is the specialized school for talented kids, and Busta (Tahiem) was in classes with my tattoo artist. I read a Busta interview where this was confirmed. Jay-Z won w/ the fastrap
Maybe Busta went to brooklyn to battle Jay-Z in Jay's high school, but TRUST ME, any Long Island hip hop fan is laughing at Busta if he's trying to claim he's from Brooklyn only. He went to Uniondale High School, there are a thousand heads out here who can confirm that. Anyone you meet from Uniondale who's around that age has a Busta story.

Easy google

Busta Rhymes has attributed his celebratory rapping style to his childhood in Uniondale. ``That Long Island environment was some fresh-air type --- that gives you room to be who you are and want to be without all those urban hangups,'' Rhymes was quoted as saying two years ago. `` . . . There was no unhappiness in our lives, so we were comfortable, cozy . . . We were able to focus on hip-hop on a fun level.'

and from MTV.com's Busta biography:

Born in East Flatbush, Brooklyn, in 1972 of Jamaican heritage (a definite influence on his rapping style), Busta moved to Long Island in 1983 and, at Uniondale High School, met up with MCs Charlie Brown, Dinco D., and Cut Monitor Milo. Inspired by fellow Long Islanders Public Enemy and Eric B. & Rakim

He might've just lived back in Brooklyn or went to high school there for a little while, sween. I've heard that story before, too, straight from either Busta or Jay-Z or maybe both in interviews. Busta, Jay and Big all suppossedly went to HS together at the same time.

This has gotta be the most preposterous one:

"I got a story to tell" was vaguelly based on a real life incident Biggie had when he was slipping pipe to John Starks' woman.

Also I always thought Xzbit was from New Mexico?
Alvin Joiner AKA Xzibit was born in Detroit and lived there until age 10. His mother passed and then this pop moved to Albuquerque with a new wife. X lived in Albuquerque from about 10 yrs old to 17 yrs old. He went to middle school and high school there. Albuquerque is where X first started rapping. His first crew was called Smalltown/Desert Land. His first performance was at a show in Albuquerque called Rap Fest. His first recorded material is from the Smalltown days. His sister and father still live in Albuquerque and X spends his holidays in there.

side fact- X was raised as a Jehova's Witness.

(yeah- I'm also from Albuquerque, now in L.A.)

Truth, I used to DJ for a guy in Smalltown named JLT. We performed at Rap Fest back when Xzibit was called Exhibit A...dude was wearing an oversized T-shirt with Richie Rich faces all over it.

Phill, Busta's story has changed umpteen times at this point. I don't doubt the battle but I do doubt the spending a lot of time in BK. Dude said he used to sneak back there because his fam didn't want him getting caught up. Around LONS time I recall him saying he was moved out to LI around the age of 10. I'm not inclined to believe a damn thing about him because back then he was a houser and now he talks about copping on New Lots Ave (THAT REAL SHIT) and selling bricks of coke. This kind of lifestyle has been refuted by NUMEROUS people.

[color:white] he is also gay or bisexual

IZM707 - Dude, D-Dot didn't produce much of that shit at all. As for his patented drum sound, it might not be Kanye but it certainly wasn't D-Dot. His partner Amen-Ra is supposedly for real though.

Alot of these are true from people I talked to. Talking with T-LaRock he also supports the Erc B./Freddie Foxx/Rakim rumor as well as the fact that Eric B. was the most god awful DJ. T was at one of the sessions and Eric B. was cutting for hours trying to get shit right, and never managed to do it. T wanted to step in but Rakim told him no.
The story I heard about Eric B was that he went to Marley Marl with a ton of cash (Alpo, Fritz and 50 Cent on the back of his album sleeve? You work it out), and basically said, make me a rap star or else. He couldn't rap, so it was suggested that he become a DJ. He couldn't DJ either. So it was suggested he might stand at the back and pretend to DJ, while someone else rhymed. Freddie Foxxx never showed for the session, and the rest is history.

My favourite out of all those is the one about Nate Dogg sticking up a bunch of Taco Bells.

Its embarassing to admit, but I actually live for shit like this!

Nice thread. My favorite is Lloyd banks being 29. Makes sense.

BOCES is the specialized school for talented kids,
that made me LOL, BOCES is for teenage moms, and kids who get kicked out of school etc. most often called bo-tards

Three 6 Mafia used to be called Triple Six Mafia and made songs about worshipping the devil, but were forced to change their name when they signed to Reletivity.

i've heard marley marl certify the foxx/rakim story on LA radio about 3/4 yrs ago. and basically says that dude just didnt show up or something. in fact, i probably have the tape around here somewhere.

The reason i dont feel nas music, NAs witnessed his brother (ILL WILL)get gunned down and aint do sh*t. Nas also, never sold drugs, if u watch the Driven on VH1 jungle says he did, it was a front, nas used to get robbed, and picked on, the real reason he dropped outta high school. Nas also got robbed at one of his video shoots, and had to buy back his chain.
ooooooooooooooooooooh hahahahahahahhaha
This is the most idiotic statement. Dude doesnt like Nas because he is not a real thug. Who gives a shit. Most hip hop dudes arn't real thugs.
