Hand picked records important to the history of Soul Strut.
Barbara Lynn never got the shine her R&B male counterparts got in the 1960s. Not only did she have a commanding, soulful vox, but she could play a mean guitar as well (left handed like Jimi). Her 1966 beautifully moody cut " I'm A Good Woman" was years ahead of its time, before funk became a common practice. The song would live on from its initial small label pressing and beome a fan favorite in Northern Soul circles.
