Cult favorite early 2000s futuristic rap for the NYC backpack crowd.  Produced by indie hip hop Svengali El-P of Company Flow and released on his label Def Jux, The Cold Vein has no shortage of clever bizarro beats and Escape from New York inspired lyrics delivered by emcees Vast Aire and Vordul Mega in a Wu-Tang type fashion.  Highlights include the lead off cut "Iron Galaxy" which does Giorgio Moroder justice, "he f-word", and many more.  Oddly enough Cannibal Ox would not release another album until 2015's Blade Of The Ronin which alienated a large part of their fan base. Still, it's hard to beat this debut.
