AOR : THE REALEST PULLS IN THE GAME

Don't give up the game Matthew!!! hahaha

oy, vey! these business models are getting absurd. so they send subsrcibers an unspecified amount of random records every month? the lack of information and detail is telling....

have any of these new fangled, crowd-funded apps designed to "revolutionize" record collecting ever turned a profit or been a success on any kind of level?

apparently they got 36 grand via kickstarter to start their business...the shop in Venice feels like a mix of a bang & olufsen store plus the vinyl section of Urban Outfitters...I'm getting old...

This Robert Byrne record is my shit... sleazy moog all over this!

As a Polaroid fan... this cover is worth the admission alone.

Some Christian jumpoffs

Breaks, yo!

The Imperials - Living Without Your Love

Feel the Power! Nice synth lines on this one.

White Heart - Hold On

Doobie vibes

Roby Duke - Can't Stop Running

I think the record game has gotten so overpriced. There's literally no bargains to be had so i've been buying a lot of smooth/AOR/yacht rock over the last year or two. It's affordable (bar a few pieces) and I genuinely love the music. Win win

Thanks for putting me up on so many new ones, especially Raj

Here's a French winner:

You know Michael Jackson sang on that Bill Wolfer album? Wolfer played keys on 'Billie Jean'...

You guys are slowly confusing AOR with adult contemporary. No self-respecting Album-Oriented Rock station back in the day would have played something as baldly poppish as the Addrissi Brothers.

Sorry... most of not all of my picks fall under the sub-genre "West Coast" AOR which is an incredibly smooth amalgam of jazz, rock, disco, R&B, etc mostly enjoyed by grown ups. I agree that Alessi cut is pushing it... but their later albums were less "poppy" and aimed at the AOR crowd with Christopher Cross as the producer.
