Red Labels on Alston Singles?

I believe Alston used that red label for everything from late '71 through '75, when they stopped being distributed by Atlantic.

its probably the multiple pressing plant reason...not something to worry about, that Betty Wright 45 is a $1 record whatever the color
A great number of Alston 45s were first released in Miami (local issues, like the BW on the right) before they got national distribution via Atlantic. <font class="post"1<b,121<b,121<b,121yeah but you should see the douchebag that (more than likely) wrote that...Clarence probably didnt write that...his "band" is a f*cking joke of a bad metal/punk group...the spokesman/manager/guitarist(maybe the bass player, cant remember) for that band is f*cking jerk-off, hardly a "musician"...pisses and moans when only 12 people come out to the shows and yells and bitches at the clubs "why werent there more BLACK people here!!??!"...as if it is the clubs fault that African Americans dont want to here some shitty white boys playing crappy 3 chord, crate amplified, metal/punk arrangements of Blowfly tunes....Clarence dont give a F*ck, he gets his guarantee...from my past experience with him he doesnt get involved with the booking or the website...its his shitty band that gets asshurt over damn near EVERYTHING....I dont know if that is the way things are now, but that is the way it was a couple years ago...the tone of that message however makes me think it is still the same asshole "managing" the "blowfly" band...
i think i know who you're talking about. i went to one of their shows this summer<b,121he did one half of the show as clarence reid, then changed and came back as blowfly. <b,121i thought the band was kinda bleh but it was still cool to see dude perform live for the first (and most likely last) time in my life..<b,121<b,121i thought it was kinda weird for him to say shit like that but if you're right about it coming from this other dude it all makes sense to me..
