my netflix queue is looking most unappealing.i know i can count on the strut to recommend something tasty...
 
search out the Jean-Pierre Melville thread from a month back and watch every movie lsited...
 
In the last thread someone mentioned the Russian film "Come and See." I rented it and was blown away. It's hands down the most powerful war movie I've ever seen.

I have a similar thing to Netflix called Screenselect in the UK. I sometimes get some series like The Shield, Arrested Development, The Adventures Of Pete & Pete, Freaks And Geeks (Get Get Get, this is my fave TV show ever) etc. They are usually good to get into as you can watch multiple episodes instead of one each week etc and you don't have to lay down cash on series that you might not watch again.
