Thanks for that. Very informative.
Wasn't he fighting for a group that we were at war against? That is treason isnt it?
I am not trying to start an argument, just trying to read it in black and white.
it was treason. however if they did not convict him of it then America fucked up
Dudes. He was not fighting for a group we were at war with. He was fighting on the US side, for the Taliban, against the Northern Alliance, which for all he knew America was still fighting against. The charge they convicted him with was not fighting for the wrong side, but breaking sanctions the US had on Afgahnistan.
The US was not fighting with the Taliban in the invasion. The Taliban and Al Queda did have ties to each other, but it was al queda that attacked the US on 9/11.
Cousin Lefty sets it all straight with some deft double speak.
You should quote the whole thing because I was correcting something and there is nothing confusing about it. Do you need me to drawl you a picture or make a flow chart so you can understand that the Taliban and Al Queda were two different groups? One was the ruling political party of Afghanistan and the other was an independent terrorist group. Though they were closely linked not everyone in the Taliban new about what Al Queda was doing. I have utter contempt for both groups, but unlike yourself I feel facts are important. If you care so much about what happened on 9/11 you should do yourself a favor and learn something. Don't both to reply I'm through with you, douchbag.
